Audition Requirements

At StageCraft Academy, we seek passionate and dedicated individuals ready to embark on a transformative journey in the world of acting. Our audition process is designed to identify talent, potential, and a genuine commitment to the craft. Please review the following requirements carefully before submitting your application:

Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 17 years of age. There is no upper age limit.
Application Form: A completed online application form must be submitted prior to the audition date. This form includes personal information, educational background, and acting experience (if any).
Headshot and Resume: A professional headshot and acting resume (if available) should be uploaded with your application. While previous experience is not mandatory, a resume helps us understand your background.
Audition Fee: A non-refundable audition fee of $50 is required to cover administrative costs. Fee waivers are available for applicants who demonstrate financial need. Please contact the admissions office for more information.
Audition Material: Applicants must prepare two contrasting monologues, each no longer than two minutes in length. One monologue should be from a contemporary play (written after 1950), and the other from a classical play (Shakespeare, Moliere, etc.).
Callbacks: Select applicants will be invited to a callback audition, which may include scene work, improvisation exercises, and an interview with the faculty.

Audition Preparation Tips

Preparing for an acting audition can be nerve-wracking, but with careful planning and practice, you can increase your chances of success. Here are some essential tips to help you prepare for your audition at StageCraft Academy:

Choose Appropriate Monologues: Select monologues that showcase your strengths and allow you to connect emotionally with the material. Choose pieces that are age-appropriate and that you genuinely enjoy performing.
Memorize Your Lines: Memorization is crucial. Know your lines inside and out so you can focus on your performance rather than trying to recall the words.
Understand Your Character: Research the play and the character you are portraying. Understand their motivations, relationships, and objectives.
